FAQs regarding One Million Mantra Meditation
1. What is the event?
- For the first time ever in the USA, an unprecedented Million Mantra Meditation program will be conducted under the auspices of His High Holiness Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. In three hours participants will experience the divine energy of chanting Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam. Collectively we will be chanting the mantras in Sri Vishnu Sahasranama 1 million times. HH Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji will be initiating us with the process. The Sri Lakhmi Kumkuma Archana and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Pushpa:rchana will also be conducted. All this is being done for our welfare and the welfare of the Nation.
In addition, a three- day Prajna Vedic Camp is being offered Friday, Sept 30th - Sunday Oct 2nd. This will be conducted by HH Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji Himself. This is a unique opportunity to spend 3 days with the most benevolent of saints.
This program is predecessor to the grand finale, mega event being held in Houston, Texas from Oct. 26th through Oct. 31st during Deepavali. We extend our invitation to all to participate in HH Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s Appearance Day celebrations, Sri Rama Kratuvu and Sahasra Kalasa:bhishe:kam.
2. Where will the event take place?
- The event is located at Metea Valley High School, 1801 North Eola Road, Aurora, IL 60502. The doors will be open at 3:00pm. Parking is located on either side of the school. Babysitting will be provided at the venue for a fee.
3. Who can participate?
- Everyone is welcome! This event is open to all devotees. You do not need to know the Sri Vishnu Sahasrana:mam in order to participate. Indeed, devotion to God and interest in participating is all that is required.
4. Why should I join this Meditation? What are the benefits?
- The Uttara Peetika contains all the benefits of joining this meditation program. To mention a few:

He who sings the thousand names of Vasudeva with utmost devotion will get fame without fail; will be first in what he does; will be blessed with everlasting riches; will be released from the clutches of samsa:ra; will never be afraid of anything; will be bubbling with vim and valor; will be blessed with good health; will be handsome forever with pleasing personality; will have all the virtues in this world; will be cured of all illness; will become free from all bondages; will be free from all fears and be safe; will gain good memory; will be blessed with righteous living with fame, wealth, wishes and good and healthy children; will become free from anger, greed, jealousy and hatred.
If you are worried about anything, if you are sad, if you are broken, if you are afraid; if you are severely ill; if you are going through turbulent times, if you are having the ill-effects of nakshatras, then sing with devotion this divine mantra of Lord Na:ra:yana and all your problems will be taken care of.
5. Is there a financial commitment?
- No, there is no financial commitment. This universal event is open to all. However, interested devotees are welcome to sponsor any part of the event if they choose.
6. What is the commitment prior to the event?
There are a few steps each family or individual is recommended to take prior to the event. These simple steps will not require much time and will help prepare you for the actual program. Prior to the event, each devotee family or individual is recommended to do the following:
- Sign up for one naama. Visit http://www.jetil.org to register your details. A naama will be emailed to you.
- From the day you are assigned the naama, the family or individual can meditate on the mantra assigned to them by chanting the mantra a few times or as many times as possible, time permitting.
- Each devotee is encouraged to write “Sri Rama” on a sheet of paper in the language of their choice. This should be done a few times a day (time permitting). Please bring all the sheets of paper to the venue on the day of the event.
- Optionally each devotee may pick additional naamas/slokas depending on their birth star (nakshatra) and padam. For a list of naamas/slokas, please visit Srikaryam
7. What is the program agenda?
- 3:30 – 4:00(PM): Vedic Music
- 4:00 – 4:15: Yoga for improving focus and concentration
- 4:15 – 4:30: Introduction
- 4:15 – 4:30: Vedic Chanting
- 4:30 – 5:00: Introduction & Vigrahas blessing from HH
- 4:45 – 5:00: Song offerings to Lord
- 5:00 – 7:00: Sri Vishnu Sahasrana:mavali prayuktha Laksha Kumkuma:rchana & Pushpa:rchana
- 7:00: Bhajan & Maha: Prasad viniyogam
8. Will materials be provided?
- All Puja material will be provided. However, devotees can bring flowers or fruits if they like. We are also trying to get Srirama Parviram Vigrahas to all those who registered to take part in this event.
9. What is the commitment after the event?
- There is no commitment after the event, however devotees are encouraged to chant Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam for their own enlightenment and benefit.
10. Can devotees who are interested in na:ra:yana mantra initiation (samasrayanam) get initiated and what are the pre-requisites?
- Those who are interested in receiving the Pancha samska:ra:s are welcome to receive the initiation the following day, Sunday, October 2nd. Please note that this is a separate event. There are no pre-requisites nor is there a mandate to give gifts, flowers, etc.

12. I would like to sponsor. What are my options and are there any incentives offered if we become members?
- We welcome you to sponsor any part of the event or any of the activities. You can also join the Acharya Tirunakshatram Celebrations being held in Houston in person and/or by sponsoring any of the activities. Vedas and the chanting procedures are being protected by HH Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji in the most authentic format. If it were not for HH some of the Vedic branches would have become extinct.
JET has started Vedic Schools, Aagama Schools, Vedanta Schools, Tribal Schools, School for Visually challenged, first ever college for the visually challenged in India and School for Fishermen. All education, books, boarding, lodging, and facilities are provided free of cost to all the students. There are currently over 2000 students enrolled in various institutions.
